Keke Palmer’s Silver French Manicure Is Party Ready

Miss Keke Palmer can do no wrong in our eyes. She’s always spotted with envy-worthy hairstyles, perfect makeup looks, and the coolest manicures. From mismatched nails to reverse French, pink swirls, and latte nails, there is never a miss on her fingertips. Her latest look, however, might be one of her best. Plus, it makes for the perfect edgy holiday nails or a festive New Year’s Eve manicure.

On November 28, the actor posted a handful of pictures to her Instagram showing off her eyewear collection with Zenni Optical. Of course, the eyewear was gorgeous, but we couldn’t help but zoom in on her silver French manicure.

In the Instagram carousel, Palmer showed off chic black sunglasses, a pair of wireframes, and classic black glasses while wearing a bright red lip, faux snakeskin strapless top, a white jacket, and some dangling silver pearl earrings—all of which perfectly coordinated with the manicure.

The manicure in question was a chic silver French tips that we will definitely be replicating. Short and almond-shaped, each of her nails had a base of clear glossy goodness. Then, at the tips was the glowing silver color. Different from most French tips, hers formed an extended crescent shape that reached down to nearly her cuticles. This provided a frame for the nude shade that upped the coolness of the manicure.

Luckily for us, this is a super easy nail look to recreate and will likely pair beautifully with every look you wear this holiday season—and beyond, seeing as chrome nails don’t seem to be going anywhere.

First, like any manicure, remove any lingering nail polish with nail polish remover. Afterward, cut and file your nails to the desired length before applying oil to soften and push back your cuticles. Once wiped clean of oil, buff the beds of your nails and add your favorite base coat.

After that, it’s time for color. For the base, you can either just apply a layer of your favorite glossy top coat or go in with a skin-matching nude polish for a more uniform result. Either way, with the base dry, stencil out the shape of your tip using tape. Then, paint on a shimmering silver polish—we like Essie’s Mystical Mist ($15) for this step—and peel off the tape to dry.

Once done with color, all that’s left is a layer of your favorite top coat and a dollop of nail oil for health. Then, you’re ready to sparkle.
