Between Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis and now Priscilla, this year has seen us all re-fall l in love with the Presley’s over-the-top glamour—particularly Priscilla’s iconic winged eyeliner, retro style, and beehive hairdo, which everyone from Kacey Musgraves to Gabrielle Union have channeled in recent months.
On November 29, NBC aired a holiday special, Christmas at Graceland, gathering artists to perform and pay tribute to the King in an end-of-the-year spectacle. Alongside performers like Musgraves, Lana Del Rey, Post Malone, and John Legend, Elvis’s own family was amongst those in attendance, including his granddaughter Riley Keough, who looked like a spitting image of Priscilla in the ‘70s.
Obviously, this has a lot to do with their shared genetics, but her hair and makeup sold the similarities even more. Keough parted her long black hair down the middle, letting it fall over her shoulders and down her back. Her hair had soft, easy waves from root to end that bounced every time she moved.
While you may usually think of Presley’s hair in her signature towering bouffant, she moved away from the style in the late ’60s in favor of a more relaxed look. Across dozens of photos of the star during that era—including the infamous family portrait where she’s wearing a purple outfit—she had her hair styled just like her granddaughter, with the only exception of more blown-out curls. The part, length, color, and carefree vibe? All the same.
Priscilla also opted for a more natural makeup look in the ’70s, which Riley channeled as well. Her skin was even and glowy, and she had a touch of blush on her cheeks. Keough’s eyes had a touch of mascara and the slightest tinge of sparkle on her inner corner, and her eyebrows were wispy yet defined, just like her grandma’s. The major difference was Keough’s matte red lipstick, which seemed fitting considering it was a holiday event.
As for the outfit, which was entirely Keough’s aesthetic, the actor wore a lace see-through blouse with ruffly oversized sleeves. The fabric and color of the top contrasted with the black satin pants on the bottom—a classic straight-leg fit. She accessorized with a golden baroque and pearl cross necklace, which felt like a nice nod to Elvis.
She posed for photos next to vintage style icon and friend of the family, Lana Del Rey, who wore a perfect ‘60s style minidress with a retro hairdo—sharing the look on Instagram in a video laughing with Keough.
