Khloé Kardashian loves to change up her hair. Though nearly always some shade of blonde, the reality TV superstar regularly plays with cut, texture, aesthetic, and volume—trying everything from bangs to bobs, ombré, and platinum. Lately, though, she has been using her mane to channel beauty icons of decades past, most recently Audrey Hepburn, and now the ’90s Supers.
On November 14, the youngest Kardashian sister posted an Instagram carousel showing off the latest chop done by her go-to hairstylist, Andrew Fitzsimons, and it’s safe to say we are in love.
A perfect lob, the new look traveled to the top of her chest with a slight curl upwards towards the end. Her roots were a darker brunette and quickly transitioned into a bright bleach blonde that continued through the rest of her hair. However, what gave us that Cindy Crawford vibe was the flippy ends.
Though it was not an exact replica of the bouncy, voluminous cuts popular in the ’90s, its the perfect interpretation for 2023. Like the models of the time, Kardashian’s hair was full of blown-out waves that curled in a handful of directions, adding chic texture and bounce, especially closer to the bottom. Though the ’90s were all about volume at the ends and the roots, Kardashian left the top half of her hair pretty much straight for a sleeker feel—like an IG baddie version of the era.
Previously, Khloé’s hair traveled to the top of her abdomen, making it too long to be a lob. Though, now, she is firmly in lob territory, perhaps inspired by the ultra-trendy stretched lob cut that has been seen on everyone from Gabrielle Union to Alexa Chung and Chrissy Teigan. The new It Girl chop has been inspiring everyone to go shorter or bob-headed girlies to go longer, with this being just the latest example.
Underneath the hair, her face was stamped by makeup artist Ash K Holm, who called the look a “mauve smoke show,” with a mauve smoky eye that blended the purplish shade with gray and brown across Kardashian’s eyelids. Her eyelashes were long, dark, and fluttery, and were nearly long enough to touch her sculpted brows. A light touch of rosy blush brought some color to her complexion, and the glam was finished off with a deep pink matte lip.
The last part of the look? Her shimmering pink Skims top and silver necklace, which was the perfect modern compliment to her vintage cut.
