This year, holiday dressing has gone rogue. Though you will still find all the festive reds, Christmas tree greens, and winter wonderland-inspired silvers, this year, unconventional winter aesthetics have become more of the norm. Hailey Bieber’s Sugar Plum Fairy makeup, Kerry Washington’s gold French tips, and Beyoncé’s creamy rose lip gloss nails have all mixed up the seasonal classics we know and love. Now, Blake Lively is taking her turn.
On December 17, the actor posted an Instagram carousel showing off her “loud luxury” ensemble that is just as bright as the lights on the Rockefeller Christmas tree.
It’s impossible to look at her outfit and not think about Barbiecore, as she was literally in head-to-toe hot pink. While the trend has faded a little bit since the movie’s release this summer, Lively is seemingly reviving it for the holidays and winter months.
The loud luxury moment started with the brightest pink lipstick and picture-perfect makeup look. Along with defined, sculpted, hot pink lips, her skin was glowing and luminous. There was a touch of pink blush on her cheeks, and long, dark, wispy lashes finished off the glam.
Of course, that was just the beginning of bubblegum realness. Her outfit completely matched with the same shade of pink as her lips.
The dress looked like it was taken straight off of a Polly Pocket. The top half of the Valentino mini dress was a tight-fitting satin material. Then, at the waist, it billowed out into a pink fur skirt, continuing all the way to the middle of Lively’s thigh. While the rest of her look was sleek and silky, the skirt was fluffy and “loud,” giving dimension to the monochromatic moment and shaping its silhouette.
Then, of course, she finished off the look with accessories. She adorned her hands with long opera gloves, made from the same fabric as the top half of the dress. As if that wasn’t enough, she accessorized the accessory with chunky emerald rings that matched her dangling earrings. The pink continued to her heels, which were a velvety material. Then, the final layer was a long hot pink trench coat that was just a shade or two lighter than the dress. To finish the look, she posed for pictures in a Judith Leiber bag shaped like a bow. So coquette of her.
