Kacey Musgraves Channeled Priscilla Presley For the Graceland Holiday Special

Thanks to last year’s Elvis and this year’s Priscilla, the Presley’s iconic style is inspiring some of the biggest beauty trends this year, from teased-up hair to dramatic eyeliner. But for some, the Memphis aesthetic is more than just a passing trend, it’s a trademark look. Kacey Musgraves definitely falls into the ladder camp.

Ever since she debuted in the country scene, Musgraves has taken beauty inspiration from Priscilla, and has often cited Elvis as one of her musical heros. So, it was only logical for her to be amongst the artists chosen to perform on NBC’s Christmas at Graceland special honoring The King.

Of course, Musgraves pulled out all the stops with her shimmering hair, makeup, and outfit to pay homage to Elvis’ legacy.

The singer posted an Instagram carousel showing off the full look she wore to sing Presley’s song “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and we couldn’t help falling in love with the look.

Musgrave’s hair is what we were drawn to first. Taking queues from Priscilla’s iconic beehive hairstyle, she had some volume at the crown of her head in the babiest of beehives—no more than a few inches tall. Musgraves’ hairstylist Giovanni Delgado parted her hair down the middle, swooping her front strands to the sides, providing a frame for her makeup. The rest of her hair fell behind her, traveling to her waist with loose, shining waves.

Her makeup, done by Moani Lee, complimented the entire outfit perfectly, mirroring the shimmer that continued on her dress. On top of her thick, dark cat eye and long fluttering eyelashes, there was a pearlescent shimmer that started on Musgraves’ lids. The pigment got even more concentrated and glowy right under her brows and in her inner corners. Her cheekbones also had a heavy touch of glowy highlighter on top of rosy blush and contoured cheeks. Matte pink lips, in a similar hue to her blush, finished off the glam.

However, her LaPointe dress was clearly the shiniest thing on her. The gown was covered in white, pearly sequins from top to bottom. The gown’s long sleeves flared out at her hands and featured raised fluffy feather accents on her shoulders. Dangling diamond earrings and matching rings completed the look.
