There must be something in Jennifer Lawrence’s water that has been making her serve even more than usual the past couple of months. After taking a break from the carpet following the birth of her child, the superstar has returned and her looks are better than ever—wearing everything from sultry ‘90s supermodel glam to a bold red lip with an abstract gown.
On November 20, Lawrence joined Saks and Dior to reveal the retailer’s holiday windows and “Dior’s Carousel of Dreams at Saks” light show. The actor continued on her fashion hot streak, channeling American style royalty Carolyn Bessette Kennedy with her sleek wide headband and coordinating quiet luxury ensemble.
Though her entire look was an instant classic, we were mostly there for everything from the neck up, mainly how she styled her hair.
Her golden blonde hair was pin-straight from root to end. She tucked every strand underneath a chic black leather headband—the Jennifer Behr Cruz Headband ($168) to be exact. The band kept her hair in place, pushing the front off her face, and the rest fell softly on her shoulders and back. She had subtle volume at her crown, but not enough to take her into beehive territory.
Her makeup look, done by Hung Vanngo using Dior Beauty, was also minimalist perfection. Her skin was glowy and dewy, with a light touch of blush on her cheeks and highlighter on the high points of her face. Lawrence’s lips were a bright pink that complimented her complexion. A soft brown shade covered her lids continuing toward her temples, and a coat of black eyeliner on her top waterline finished off the look.
The effortlessness, subtle chicness, and, of course, the headband was the perfect nod to Bessette-Kennedy’s style. It was the icon’s go-to accessory, and though she preferred a tortoiseshell colorway, the size and silhouette were a one-to-one of the style Lawrence wore. She also usually paired it with a quiet luxury business-chic look that still inspires minimalist fashion lovers today, just like Lawrence’s look. With the ‘90s resurgence showing no signs of going anywhere, we wouldn’t be surprised if the sleek headband continued to make A-list appearances.
The rest of Lawrence’s look, all Dior of course, fits perfectly with the chic vibes. She wore an oversized blazer coat layered over a white button-up, which was styled with a popped collar. Her skirt matched the coat. However, despite the layers, she bundled up from the NYC cold with a navy blue blanket because even the chicest among us get the shivers.
