It’s Hailey Bieber’s birthday! At least, almost. The Rhode founder is gearing up to turn 27 on November 22, and has kicked off her birthday celebrations early and, of course, in style. In typical Bieber fashion, she brought her love of food-related beauty to her birthday look, partying with close friends in a moody red ensemble that we’re dubbing red wine couture from her dress to her nails.
On November 16, Bieber shared that she was “starting the bday week off early,” posting a handful of pictures to her Instagram showing off the first of her festive looks before officially entering her Saturn Return.
The entire look, as mentioned, was a dark red monochromatic moment. And while we could stare at the model’s archival Thierry Mugler dress for days, we just had to zoom into her nails for all the details.
Bieber’s nails were medium-length and almond-shaped, with a color that perfectly matched her dress. Not bright enough to be a classic cherry red, though not quote the right tone to be the ultra-trendy “cherry mocha” shade, her nails were more reminiscent of the trending Malaga Wine shade and Rachel Zegler’s recent Bordeaux nails for the new Hunger Games premiere. Basically, they gave us classy, chic Pinot Noir vibes, a fitting shade for a celebration.
The rest of the glam also coordinated with her skin-tight velvet dress. She wore her hair in a sleek French twist with two large chunks of face-framing strands creating a frame for her makeup. Like every look she does nowadays, her skin was dewy and ultra-glowy. She used some red blush on her cheeks to keep the theme going, and her lips had a muted red shade with subtle sparkle—which, based on her Instagram story, is thanks to her new shimmery Peptide Lip Tint in Jelly Bean.
Obviously, we don’t all have a vintage Mugler dress hanging in our closets; however, her nails can be done in minutes with drugstore products.
First, remove any lingering polish with nail polish remover before cutting and filing your nails to the desired length. Then, apply some oil to soften and push back your cuticles. After that, wipe clean and apply your favorite base coat.
Once the base coat is dry, go in with two to three coats of OPI’s Malaga Wine ($12) and let dry. The final step is to seal it all in with your favorite top coat and add a dollop of nail oil for health. Then, boom, you will be ready for any birthday celebration.
