The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes press tour is in full swing, and the looks have been living up to our high expectations. Plenty of the cast’s outfits have already caused a stir online, including Hunter Schafer’s yellow velvet gown, Tom Blyth’s formal interpretation of the tank top, and Rachel Zegler’s hooded gown with moody red nails. And that’s just to name a few.
Zegler’s look perhaps caught our eye the most. From her sultry, flowy gown to flawless makeup and perfectly on-trend nails, the actor just quietly confirmed she’s a fashion darling in the making.
On November 14, the West Side Story star walked the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of the latest story from Panem in the aforementioned look, giving us all the details on the glam on social media when it was all over.
Celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik was behind the nails for her look, which he called a “Sultry Bordeaux” manicure. He painted her short, natural-shaped nails with a deep, moody red that wasn’t quite bright enough to be cherry but also not dark enough to be “cherry mocha.” Instead, it more resembled a rich red wine—hence the name “Bordeaux.” The manicure ties in perfectly with the red nail trends dominating out fingertips.
The sultriness only continued throughout the rest of her look. Most notably with her outfit. An Elie Saab design, her body was covered in flowy, ethereal, romantic fabrics that trailed behind her as she walked. The bodice of the gown had structure along her chest, with fabrics stacked with silver accents. The flowiness continued with an oversized hood that framed her face with a goddess-like effect while draping over her arms and corseted top.
Underneath the hood sat flawless hair and makeup. Done by Allan Avendaño, her glam started with a base of dewy, glowing skin. A light touch of blush and some contour added dimension and color to her face. Brushed up, feathery brows framed a sunset-hued golden eyeshadow look. There was a shimmering white shade in her inner corners that flowed into a bright yellow-gold on top of a warm orange base. The final touch to the makeup was glossy, natural pink lips.
Then, last but certainly not least, was her hair, styled by Marissa Marino. Her dark black hair was parted to the side. The left side of her hair was loosely pulled back and around her neck, where it joined the rest of her mane lying on her chest, sitting underneath the flowy hood.
