Kim Kardashian’s Milky Manicure Is Thanks to This Drugstore Nail Polish

One thing about Kim Kardashian? She will wear the most luxurious things money can buy. Full-body Swarovski crystals? Check. A dress once worn by Marilyn Monroe? Controversial, but check. Giorgio Armani foundation? Her go-to. If you can think of something expensive, chances are it’s on Kim K’s radar. So, needless to say, we were very surprised to find out her latest nail look came from the aisles of CVS.

On November 11, Kardashian attended the Baby2Baby Gala—an event raising money for children living in poverty—alongside stars like Sofia Richie Grainge, Hailey Bieber, and Lori Harvey. She wore a jaw-dropping ensemble finished off with a $13 nail polish.

When you first saw her walk across the red carpet, her manicure probably wasn’t the first thing you saw. Instead, it was a black floral and lace gown with turtleneck detailing and a faux see-through illusion. However, once her nail artist Brittany Boyce posted a picture highlighting the nail look, we couldn’t look away.

Kardashian’s nails had a similar nude effect to her dress. However, instead of the tan layer resembling her skin under the lace, her nails were a light pinkish-nude with a slightly sheer finish. “We wanted to go with the perfect milky/sheer neutral that would compliment the length and shape of her nails,” said Boyce in the caption. The best part? Everything used to create the nail look was from drugstore nail brand, Essie.

Boyce—who is also the artist behind a number of Megan Fox’s and the D’Amelio sister’s manicures—wrote in the comments that the first step of creating the red carpet moment was applying two coats of Essie’s Gel Couture polish ($13) in the shade Fairy Tailor. Boyce didn’t specify if she used a base coat before applying the color, but if you’re copying the look at home it would be best to add one for the most even results.

Then, Boyce sealed everything in with a coat of Essie’s Gel Couture Top Coat ($13) before letting it dry and hydrating Kardashian’s cuticles with Essie’s On a Roll Apricot Cuticle Oil ($15).

Beyond the nails, the rest of Kim K’s red carpet glam was just as gorgeous. Her skin was perfectly matte, with a heavy touch of pink blush on her cheeks. She wore a sharp, dark cat eye that pierced from her inner corner to her wing and paired the eyeliner with a slightly glittery eyeshadow. Her lips were nude and nearly matched her skin tone. The last addition was her jet-black wavy hair in the middle part.
