Kim Kardashian’s Frosty Retro Makeup Is the Best Holiday Beauty Inspo

Another day, another jaw-dropping Skims campaign. For the unaware, the past two months have practically been Skimstober and Skimsvember—after going ultra-viral for launching a men’s line, releasing a padded bra with faux nipples, becoming the official underwear of the NBA, and releasing a collaborative collection with Swarovski, the shapewear brand just gave us a holiday campaign chock-full of beauty inspo.

Over the weekend, Kim Kardashian posted a handful of campaign images across social media, and it’s safe to say the world stopped. Shot by the legendary Nadia Lee Cohen, the images took major inspiration from retro ’70s magazine covers, from the logo to the hair, makeup, and outfits.

Kim K posed in three distinct looks styled to look like they were in a vintage holiday catalog. With an all-tan backdrop and a groovy remake of the Skims font, the A-lister served us a retro blonde bump hairstyle with makeup perfect for a winter ski trip.

The first thing we noticed was her new hair. A huge change from her regular jet black, Kardashian wore slightly wavy honey-blonde hair that traveled down to the middle of her back. With all of her hair swept back, there was a Priscilla Presley-esque bump on the top of her head that really sold the retro fantasy.

Of course, the makeup only added to the vintage vibes. She looked like she had just gone down a black diamond—her skin was noticeably more bronzed than usual, save for the small section of her under-eyes that were her natural skin tone, giving the look that they were covered by sunglasses.

Also protected under the sunnies was her bright blue eyeshadow, which will surely be replicated for all holiday parties this season. Focused on her inner corner, the baby blue shadow, done by her go-to makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, was brightest near her nose and slowly faded out into a pinkish tan. Then, under the arch of her brow, was a thick highlighting accent that sculpted the look and gave even more of a frost-bitten appearance.

The makeup look was finished off with a hefty application of blush underneath her sunglasses-protected under-eyes and continued out to her temples. Then, glossy pink-nude lips sealed the look together. She paired the beauty look with the Skims holiday collection, including silky blue shorts, cherry red shapewear, and fuzzy white short shorts.
