Like most of us, Sofia Richie Grainge’s skin is sensitive to the weather. For those among us who break out every time we breathe wrong, the changing of the seasons can cause irritation and redness before your body even registers the new temperature. Add makeup, and fall can be some of the most tumultuous times for your skin. However, Richie Grainge just let us in on her weather-sensitive fall makeup routine, which you can try out if you, like Sofia and me, suffer from seasonal skin issues, too.
On November 8, Richie Grainge posted a “Get Ready With Me” video from her perfectly lit bathroom where, while in cherry red nails and an oversized black sweater, she shares that “the seasons are changing and my skin is freaking out,” pointing to a breakout she is currently experiencing on her cheek.
Richie Grainge says dry, breakout-prone skin “happens every year” to her around the cold-weather shift, so she builds a fall makeup routine to match her needs. This lineup includes a handful of complexion products that add some much-needed hydration to combat dryness and a few different types of blush.
Starting with Hourglass’s Veil Hydrating Skin Tint ($49), she applies it onto her cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin, blending the formula for the perfect finish. “It sits on the skin well. It’s not too heavy,” she says about the tint in her TikTok video, adding that it’s all about “hydrating while keeping her skin from absolutely freaking out.”
After that, Richie Grainge goes in with the “holy grail” product that she “cannot live without”: the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($49). She applies it nearly everywhere, dotting it across her cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead and blending until it’s nearly invisible.
With her cold-weather safe complexion base complete, Richie Grainge adds her favorite—and semi-controversial—orange blush from NudeStix in the shade Picante ($35). Next, she layers on even more blush, specifically the shade Eternal Flush from Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Edit Palette ($90), applying pink to the high points of her cheekbones. Finally, she adds a bronzer from the same palette, in the shade Lustrous Bronze Light, under her cheekbones for a sculpting effect.
Last but not least, she finishes her eyes with only one step, using Hourglass’s Unlocked Instant Extension Mascara ($32). And with just a coat of Hourglass’s Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm ($36) on her lips, which she says is one of her favorite products of all time, she is “ready for whatever the day has to throw” at her—including any dryness and fall windchill.
